When you are trying to save money by eating at home and limiting your visits to bars and clubs, going out on a dates might seem counterproductive. What you need to remember is that not all settings where you can spend time with your date need to focus around expensive entertainment and services.

Here are a few tips that will help get you started:

Do something together - Sitting in front of one another is not always the best arrangement. There is a lot to be said about mutual experiences. So go online and look for outdoor activities. Go for a walk out of town or in a park or play a sport together.

Go grocery shopping - You don't have to go out to an expensive restaurant to eat. Instead, go to a discount grocery store and pick up some of your favorite items. Not only will this be cheaper, you can spend a great time together preparing the meal and eating it either outside or in.

Movies? Get them on DVD - Going out to the movie theater can be nice but it's also expensive. Instead, do some research on what your partner has recently enjoyed and what new release movies they might be in to. Then, go out and rent a DVD! You can create a very similar movie watching experience in your home that you would have at the theater, and in a minimal cost.

Walk on the beach - Going out to the beach is an excellent way to enjoy time together without having to spend any substantial amount. Leave in the afternoon and make sure to stick around till the evening. The views and the air are purifying and relaxing.

Visit Galleries - Art galleries in most cities are free. If you and your partner enjoy arts, visiting a gallery or doing a gallery tour is an excellent low cost solution for a fun experience together. All you need to do is pick up the local newspaper and find gallery listings. Then, prepare your rout and even better - print some background material about the artists you are about to see.

Remember, dating isn't all about spending money, it's about spending time together to see if there's a spark. Be yourself. Keep it real. And stay within your budget.
